Lauren Mazur at 14 years of age

Lauren Michelle Mazur was born in Louisville, KY on January 28th, 1989. Music became a very important part of her life at a very young age. By age 5, Lauren was already singing solos at DePauw Memorial United Church in New Albany. Her family has a very musical background. Lauren's cousin, Carol Byers, is an Opera Singer in Vienna, Austria, and gives her voice lessons when she comes to the United States. Her uncle, Blake Baumeier, is lead guitarist in the band, "The Velcro Pygmies", and they have released three CD's.

A move to Newburgh, IN in her 5th grade year changed her life. An elementary school music teacher noticed Lauren's singing voice and began giving her voice lessons before school in the morning.

By the 6th grade, Lauren was performing in the Castle Elementary Talent Show, and was also a featured soloist for her 6th grade graduation. Her stage presence also earned her many opportunities to appear in several local television commercials.

Lauren's 7th and 8th grade years at Castle Junior High School were a growing time for her. She continued taking voice lessons in Evansville along with being lucky enough to have two exceptional Choir teachers. They gave her many opportunities and solos during concerts. In May 2003, Lauren won the Castle Junior High Talent Show. She won $100.00 in prize money and Lauren donated the entire amount to the "Food Bank Charity"

At age 13, Lauren traveled to Nashville, TN for a talent search.  Her talent was quickly noticed by several record companies at the event and she was offered 3 recording contracts. While making a demo record at the event, Lauren met Don Gibson of Nashville Record Productions.

There was an immediate bond, and she felt like she wanted to work with Don. Mr. Gibson has helped her with recording several demo CD's, and has taught her many things about the business.

Right now, Lauren, Don Gibson, Jake Cauley, and Eddie Lowe are setting up fundraisers to help cover expenses for children with serious medical illnesses through "The Ronald McDonald House".

Last summer, Lauren was chosen by WYNG radio to perform with a live band during their "Colgate Country Showdown." It was a great experience and she looks forward to doing it again next summer.

Lauren is now 14 years old and a freshman at Castle High School. She is a cheerleader, a member of the Knightingales Choir, and continues to work on her music career in Nashville with Nashville Record Productions
